Sharing with a group

Hey folks....

When I share a google doc with a group, should that doc appear in "Shared with me" for each member of the group?

It's not showing up there...only when I share to individuals.

Any ideas?

They should be able to search for it, but at the very least you can email the group a link to the page. Once they open it it will show up.

This has been a limitation for a while now... If you share INDIVIDUALLY it shows up immediately. If you share with the group you're better off to email a link to the group...

So, ok......the members of the group can get to the doc with the link.

But even after opening it up the first time, they still have to use the link anytime to get to the doc.

You could have them copy the file to their drive. Once they find the document, have them hold down ctrl drag the file to their drive.

I have experienced the same thing with Google Drive.  Seems like there is a "bug" in the system.  They could just get in the habit of putting every file they open into My Drive.  Then it would should up there...

This is news to me... In the past, it would show up under "shared with me" once they went to it the first time...

I"ll test it with another login to verify, but it didn't show up for me when I tried it.
