PDF document on website

What's the best way to upload a PDF document on your website?  I tried Google Docs, shared it, and then linked to it. That worked, but I'm wondering if there's a way to embed the pdf document itself, as opposed to it opening with the Google Docs File menu along the top.

Under the PDF's File menu, you should see an Embed option...
