All our users (staff and students) are under one domain.

We want to limit Gmail for our K-4 students to internal (our domain) email only. We will soon have all our K-4 students in a suborganization, but I do not see a way to make their email internal only while leaving it open for all our other users. Is this possible?

No you can't do it based on suborgs.  You need to create a subdomain for your students which you can then use to enforce email filtering rules but it is based on domain name, not on organizational unit.

All my best,
Matthew

We restrict ours based on sub organization.

This article helps with how to find the settings but once there, you can restrict the InBound/Outbound delivery to reject all messages that are not from your domain. We've been using this model for a few years and its worked great!

Feel free to message me off list if you have anymore questions.

Sure you can control that with settings in the admin panel. See my help guide for more details:

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone knew a way around Google's safe search blocking images through Google Drive and in apps such as pic collage. I can search images in Haiku Deck on the iPad but not in Pic Colage and I cannot search images in Google Drive. When we try, we can search but blank images come up. Then, when I insert the blank image onto the page the picture will show. You just can't see the image before you add it to the page. This happens on the computer and on the iPad. Any suggestions?

I'm not exactly sure when the change occurred, but Google did make the change to where sub-orgs give the same control that setting up sub-domains gave us when sub-orgs could not allow us to restrict settings. I set our students up on a sub-domain before the sub-orgs gave us that control. Matthew is right, in that this was not available, but this changed maybe 6 months to 1 year ago. Since I have my sub-domain up and going, I haven't explored the sub-org control, but it is available now. If sub-org control was available when setting up our students, I would have not done a sub-domain.

Thanks all! I was able to restrict emails to/from our K-4 suborganization to our domain only using the instructions here https://support.google.com/a/answer/2786758?hl=en
