Hi Elizabeth,
We've not seen this specific issue with IE, but we've seen enough issues with IE and Google Apps that we have switched to Google Chrome as our default browser district wide. And depending on which version of IE they are using it can really be bad. Google Apps supports the current and the previous version of all modern browsers. So in the case of IE they support 8 and 9. We're finding a lot of families are still on IE 6 and 7 because they are trying to use our new web sites which are all Google Sites with Apps Script and they are having lots of issues. Even with IE 8 and 9 there are issues. For those who wish to continue with IE we recommend they install Chrome Frame. It a Google plugin that works with IE 6 - 9, that adds in the standards and tech that MS has left out. For those more tech savvy folks we recommend they switch to Google Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.

I hope this helps!
John :-)
