We are just now getting our teachers to use Google Forms as a way to administer online quizzes/tests.  We've encountered some issues I was hoping to get some help with.

1.  Is there a way to have the form shuffle the order of the questions?  There is concern from teachers that students sitting near each other will be able to share answers if the questions are presented in the same order on each quiz.  I have searched but cannot find if this is even an option with Google Forms, as it is with other things (Moodle).

2.  When a student submits the form with the option to send their answers to themselves via email, is there a way to keep them from forwarding that email (which contains the test questions and answer choices), on to others?

3.  We had several student submissions for one quiz/form that never registered on the spreadsheet.  For students that had emailed their answers to themselves, we simply had them print out the email and the teacher will grade it as usual.  One student, that didn't check the box to have his responses sent to himself, had to go back and retake the test.  We walked him through the submission part, just to make sure he was doing everything correctly, and the answers still did not come through to the spreadsheet.  Is there something I can do to troubleshoot situations where submissions don't register on the spreadsheet?

4.  I know how to set up the spreadsheet so that it self-checks once all the students have submitted their responses.  Is there a way to set it up so that it checks each response as it is submitted?

5.  Is there a way for us to set the form to send a score back to the students?

Thanks for your help!

I have been playing with ExamGeneral instead of gForms for tests.

Be careful of the pricing For ExamGeneral, the wording of the free service is a little unclear.....

I may have just stumbled on what you need.  It's called Flubaroo!  See the attached instructions for implementation.

Has anybody been successful using Flubaroo with the new forms format?  We were just getting our teachers to use it and now they are saying it isn't working with the new format.  I haven't had time to test it myself yet.

I used it last week with no problems. What are they experiencing?

1 - there is no way to shuffle questions.  For assessments that require this, I use proprofs

2 - only way I have found around this is to not select collect username when setting up the form.  However, if you use Flubaro you have to rely on the students to accurately enter email addresses as one of the questions on the form

3 - I have encountered similar issues when large number of students are submitting form in short time - such as when we used forms for homecoming voting.

4 - Andy Schwen    has a two spreadsheet system that self scores forms upon student submission and collects all student performance data for analysis.  This takes a little time to set up; he has tutorials of the set posted on his blog.

5 - As suggested Flubaroo

In regard to new forms.... no issues with Flubaroo

I would like to add on other vital script for teachers that are having student complete work using Google Docs.  The file management and sharing set up can be a nightmare.   Andrew Stillman has a script called Doctopus that is a teacher's dream.   Recently, he just added Goobric which allows teachers to score student work using rubrics that automatically insert into student work.
