I am using Sonicwall for my content filtering and firewall. It is pretty easy to setup Youtube for education. The one issue that remains is that if student or anyone attempt to got to
https://youtube.com it will allow them access. Sonicwall only rewrites the header on http and not https. They advise blocking access to https for
youtube.com but this also effects drive and other google services. It appears that google uses the same ips and server for most of their services and by blocking https traffic to youtube you also mess with the other services. I talked to Sonicwall and their only work around was a proxy server that redirect 443 to 80 for youtube. I don't have a proxy server setup. Has anyone had any luck with this?
