Google announced today that an administrative managed version of Google plus is coming to businesses and educational accounts.  I don't think this means it is allowed in k12 yet but I hope that k12 integration will soon follow.

I've actually been corresponding with Amit Singh via Twitter and Google+ about this very issue. He did not seem to realize that turning on the Google+ service isn't even an option for K12 Google Apps domains.

Google as a whole seems to be having trouble reconciling that some schools/districts have K12 Google Apps domains that ONLY contain staff members (we completely separated our staff and students into separate domains). They are wary of the legal implications of students under 13 having access to Google+ if they make it available to K12 domains. I've been trying to convince them that we should be able to turn it on for staff-only domains and even for staff OUs within a K12 domain.

I think that Amit now understands that , but I'm not sure whether or not it will help.
