to University of Kansas Amateur Radio Club
Field Day 2010 is June 26-27.

For those of you that don't know, Field Day is a contest where the
object is to work as many stations as possible on any and all amateur
bands (excluding the 60, 30, 17, and 12-meter bands) and in doing so
to learn to operate in abnormal situations in less than optimal
conditions. A premium is placed on developing skills to meet the
challenges of emergency preparedness as well as to acquaint the
general public with the capabilities of Amateur Radio.

Take a look at the rules, http://www.arrl.org/field-day, and start
thinking about ways that we can earn bonus points. The K0KU station
would qualify as a class E station.

The contest starts at 1pm but we will be there a little before to get
set up. Since we are going to use antennas that are already in place
our operation is limited to 24 hours. Please reserve this weekend as
this is probably the biggest contest of the year and is a lot of fun
to operate!
