I've been getting a lot of this lately. The plant is dwarf horseweed (Conyza ramosissima), also known as dwarf fleabane. It is a low annual that generally isn't noticed until it starts to flower and fruit after the grass has been cut. It produces large amounts
of seed that persist in the soil, allowing it to proliferate over the years.

Hello Mark! I had a gentleman bring this plant into the office this morning and he would like to get an ID on it. I think it is possibly dwaft fleabane. He said it is growing in his brome and fescue fields. Root system is not deep. Started noticing it
in late summer.
