Hi Cassie,

Yes, this is one of the species commonly known as Dayflowers. From your images, it is difficult to tell which it is of two species of the common Kansas members of the genus Commelina.  I think it is probably Commelina communis (asiatic dayflower).

Best, Mark

Subject: Plant identification

Hi Mark,

Can you please help me identify this plant? I think it's dayflower. The homeowner doesn't think so because she said it bloomed in early spring.
I did find a few blooms on it yesterday. It is growing in Beloit, Kansas.

Thank you!
-Cassie
