The problem occurs in Ver. 2.00, and the wrong thumbnail is shown in the
message body
not only for attached image files, but also for other files
(e.g., .ppt, .doc, etc.).
The incorrect thumbnail appears to be some random image, possibly cached.

I'm also experiencing this issue. The thumbnails seem to be from images
that were
attached to other emails that I've read previously. K-9 Mail Version 2.403
on
CyanogenMod 4.2.15.1.

Version 2.6 running over Android 2.1-update1 (Moto Droid) does not appear
to exhibit the wrong thumbnail problem. Perhaps one of the updates
addressed the issue.

Yes - this is still happening. I'm using var 2.803. I'm not 100% on this -
but I believe the thumbs are being pulled from the Internet browser cache.
They are very random and don't remember seeing most of them before.

I believe this is an Android bug and I saw a work-around somewhere. But I
can't remember or find where that was :(

Correction to my earlier post (which is now deleted). It's still
happening. Cached images shown as thumbnails for attachments to emails.

I have the same problem. version 2.803. The pic that shows in
the "preview" as being attached is not even on my phone anywhere that I can
find. If I open the pic, then it is the correct picture and not the
thumbnail on the preview.

I sent an email to myself (2 different names) and attached a pic of a cat.
When I opened my other email name (received) the thumbnail was a pic of me
that I deleted a month ago and is not on my cell phone. When I went back
to the first email name (sender) the thumbnail attachment was also not of
the cat. When I opened the attachment thumbnail, the pics were the correct
cat pic.

We get it. You see the wrong thumbnails. But please don't post here unless
you have new information regarding this issue or intentionally want to
annoy the users who starred that issue and receive an email notification
for each post.
If we'd knew how to fix this, we would!
