What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. enter two emails in the form

"one name" <one_long_em...@example.com>, "another name"
<some...@example.com>
2. place the cursor before the comma
3. start deleting backwards pressing and holding Backspace

What do you expect to have happen?

the first email should be deleted only leaving the comma at the start

What do you see instead?

after deleting exactly 20 characters, the program crashes

What version of K-9 are you using?

5.006

What is your device and what version of Android are you using?

Nexus 5, Android 4.4.2

Is your email account a POP account, Exchange Account or an IMAP account?
IMAP

What else should we know?

I use the black background theme
