New issue 3486 by mra...@gmail.com: Duplicate emails with k9mail via IMAP
and Microsoft Outlook is open and connected via exchange
http://code.google.com/p/k9mail/issues/detail?id=3486

Is this a bug or a support request?

This is bug.

What's going wrong?

When I'm connected with k9mail via IMAP protocol to the corporate email and
Microsoft Outlook is open on my computer (connected via exchange protocol),
I receive duplicate emails with k9mail. On Outlook it's OK (only one copy
exist).

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. k9mail open and configured with IMAP (for the push purposes)
2. Microsoft Outlook is open and configured via exchange protocol

What do you expect to have happen?

Receive only one copy of the email.

What do you see instead?

Duplicate emails.

What version of K-9 are you using?

3.901

Is your email account a POP account, Exchange Account or an IMAP account?

IMAP on K9mail, exchange on Microsoft Outlook.

In order for us to have a chance at helping you with a complex issue, we're
going to need a debug log from your phone.

The trace is in the attached file.

What else should we know?

The trace is edited file with deleted personal info. The message you should
look for is "test1"

Hello

In my case, the problem is only when viewing all accounts on th unified
inbox. -> every message from exchange is shown twice
When selecting only the exchange account, messages are shown correctly.

I have the current version of K9 and I have the same issue. I found there
are two inboxes in my exchange folder list and they both show up in the
unified inbox. That's weird because I only have one inbox. The workaround
on this is to only show one inbox in the unified inbox by
unchecking 'Unify' in one of the inbox's folder settings.

HTC EVO, Android 2.3.3, K9 4.003, duplicate exchange emails in unified
inbox. Agreed, auto expand settings in auto expand inbox for exchange acct
shows two "inbox". So far unchecking unify inbox under the exchange
account settings has solved the problem for the unified inbox so far.

Unchecking the "Unify" for the second Inbox worked for me. Thanks!

To do this, first open K9 to the account selection screen.
- Select the account that shows the duplicate (most likely your Exchange
account).
- Bring up the menu using the Menu button on your Android device, and
select "Folder List"
- If two Inbox items are listed, select and hold the second "Inbox". Then
select "Folder Settings".
- Uncheck the last item in the Folder Settings ("Unify").

->If two Inbox items are NOT listed, there may be a different folder
with two items listed or your problem is different (sorry!).

Hello,

I have the same problem.
I have no second INBOX - Unify does not solve the problem. :-(

Any other hints available?
