Hi everyone,

we're preparing a new stable release. Please test this release candidate and report any new bugs you encounter.
If you're using the OpenPGP functionality I recommend using OpenKeychain[1] rather than APG.

Changes in v5.000 RC1 (since v4.804):
  • K-9 Mail now requires at least Android 4.0.3
  • Added support for OpenPGP API v3
  • Added ability to use client certificates for authentication
  • Enabled support for TLSv1.1 and TLSv1.2
  • Added SSL/TLS session caching
  • Offer encrypted connection by default when manually setting up an account
  • Simplified options for authentication and security
  • Removed auto-configuration settings for all providers that didn't support encrypted connections
  • Added privacy setting to omit the User-Agent header
  • Added privacy setting to use UTC as timezone in mail headers
  • Finer grained control for notifications
  • Added support for delete confirmations in the message list
  • Added the option to show the password when setting up new accounts
  • Added a slider to allow picking a font size for the message body (40% to 250%) in settings
  • Added support for KitKat's Storage Access Framework that allows you to attach multiple files at once
  • Multiple bug fixes
  • Updated translations

Thanks, installed, so far so good, no issues observed.

Tried multiple files, worked fine.
Dumb question, Kaiten seems to support same multiple files, is that same, or am I missing something

Thanks for all your work, K9 Team, great mail client

Also upgraded to the RC1.

I had to manually refresh the SSL certificates as I couldn't send any
email.

ie. I needed to download SSL Certs again. (workaround, open Account
settings, Sending Mail, check data, press NEXT, get error, accept and
download SSL Cert. again)

I got an error when sending email

"Unrecognized Certificate
The server presented an invalid SSL certificate...."

I think this happened before with an update to the present stable release.

I thought doing an upgrade would take what was already there and not
require refreshing the SSL certificates.

Not sure if this is a bug or expected behaviour. Couldn't find a place
on Github to post this error.

This happened on both Galaxy Note 10.1 running Android 4.1.2 & Google
Nexus running Android 4.3

Could you let me know where I should post bugs?

I'm getting Push Errors for Inbox and Drafts.  Javax.net.ssl.SSLExcetion: Read errors

Hi there!
Using SG4 and recently installed current v4.804 now no longer receive ANY audible or led notification.  All was fine and working great prior to v4.804 update.
Kindly advise and/or fix.
