leave emails on server

Have been using Thunderbird for years, I use several devices to check my email, with k9 can i leave the orginial message on the server and just download a copy to the device i am checking the mail with.

This sounds like a POP3 question (because if you switch to IMAP you
don't have this problem).

The answer is yes but it's not the default behavior. You need to select
the option to leave the mail on the server.

I just went through the setup wizard (it says Almost Done) but I never saw "an option to select to leave the mail on the server" as described by Seth Holmes.  How do a find that option before the first download occurs - possibly deleting all my emails ?
