k-9 mail suspicious login attempt just days after adding accounts

hi all, recently downloaded k9 and I must say it is 10x better than the gmail app thanks so much!

but I have an issue just recently and I am quite concerned

I received an email about a suspicious login attempt today (installed k9 a couple days ago) on both of the emails I added to k9

login was from New Jersey and I live in the midwest

is this normal?

No, that is not normal. Definitely investigate that.

However, if you are using Gmail (as your email provider) and you disabled "Less Secure App Access" then you will periodicly receive emails about abnormal activities which is actually normal (just K9 fetching your emails).

Re-enabling Secure Access will deny K9-Mail from being able to fetch your emails.

I got such a disturbing warning too.

The reason is, they take the location of your internet provider!
