When will the Play Store be updated with a new version of K9?  I see that you've released 4.330.  I am currently on 4.200 but that was from the Play Store.  Are the current builds still considered beta tests?  Or, are these current and the Play Store not?

By the way, I LOVE K9!  It is, by far, the best email program I've found in Android.  Keep up the awesome work.

How make this, when the app crashes, before open?

You don't have to enable debug logging in this case. Just skip the
part about enabling debug logging.

I am also getting crashes with the latest build. All other builds before this one are fine.

Tried to generate a debug/crash log. I am not seeing anything in the aLogcat

Just to add some more information. K9Mail always crashes when I try to open it.

With the older build I get an account listing. I guess something has changed as far as the notifications and opening k9mail that broke things. From the changelog it seems that the devs tried to patch so that hitting the back button in k9mail opened from a notification would exit the app. Maybe something related to the context (I remember a similar thread a few builds back with crashing issues, might be related)

Did you filter for k9 in alogcat? Please try without filtering and
check if you see a error message.

Hi all,

could anyone tell me if the missing email context menu entry for sharing the email to other apps (I am looking for a way to make an email a todo entry in my todo app) is missing by design or by mistake? The latest release version still contains that menu entry. I apologize if this information should be obvious but I looked for beta version change logs and even took a peek at the source code (way over my head) and could not come up with an answer to this question.

Apart from that missing feature I really like this beta version. It's very stable and I like the UI changes very much.

Cheers

ANeun

The "share" operation isn't in that menu, it's on the menu for the
little double-arrow icon instead; Share is listed after Reply, Reply
all, and Forward.

Whether the todo app can handle what K-9 sends it is another matter, of
course.

Actually, I think he was referring to launching K-9 from within the todo app, rather than the reverse. As far as I know, this is working. There was a bug in earlier versions that may or may not be present in the current version. Sending a file to K-9 to use as an attachment sometimes resulted in an attachment that had the correct name and permissions, but was zero bytes long.

Hi Dennis,

thank you for your quick reply. You are absolutely correct. I found the functionality.  It is not located in the list view but in the single email view with a double arrow button as you described.

For those interested: Sharing an email to DGT GTD (weird name, I know) todo app works great.

Have a nice day

I am still getting crashes even using the latest 4.331 build.

Latest working build for me is 4.328. 4.329 crashes for me when I try to open the app. I get a black blank screen and then get back to the home screen saying that the app has crashed. I see nothing when I use alogcat (i made sure to clear any filters).

I would love to help, let me know what else I can try.

sounds strange that there is no logging in case of a force close. You
can attach your phone to your pc and use the android dev tools to
gather a debug log. (adb logcat) but i doubt that this will show
different entries.

I have often a slow connection so reading the message body can take
measurable time.

apparently I can also trigger this crash in another way:
In a folder with a few unread messages with attachments,
display one of the messages without reading the attachment,
qucikly switch to next (unread) message with "<" or ">".
Crashes when doing this fast enough - on a relatively slow
device.

can you record a debug log and create a issue at our tracker?
please link the issue here. I think without debug log this is hard to
track. I hope it's not a racecondition :(

just testing 4.331 and can not reproduce the bug so far.

However 2 things are extremely irritating about the netx/prev function
in the message view:

(1) when hitting prev or next the bottom bar (with the prev/next/trash
reply/compose) icons is quickly (or rather slowly on my phone) changed
to a bar containing only a compose icon and then redrawn to previous
state. Flicker and flower operation, also it is possible to acidentaly
hit the wrong button (compose)
(2) "<",">" are always confusing me - while "^","v" were always intuitive
for me. Would it be possible to add them back, perhaps as option?

I had the same issue, and also had to follow the uninstall/reinstall sequence. Apparently the database-upgrade code is badly enough broken to suggest that no one tested it.
