I have tried a bunch of server settings, mail.outlook.com, pop3.live.com and others and simply cannot get my outlook.com account to work. Any help?

First of all, have you confirmed that pop3.live.com will pull mail from outlook.com (I am asking since outlook.com and live.com are different domains)? Secondly, have you confirmed that you are using either IMAP or POP3 protocols to connect, since K-9 is documented not to work with ActiveSync, and Microsoft no longer supports the use of WebDav?

I found this and this work for my account:

Incoming server:
Username: <Provide complete ...@outlook.com email>
Password: <Password>
POP3 server: pop3.live.com
Security: SSL (always)
Authentication: PLAIN
Port: 995

Outgoing server:
SMTP server: smtp.live.com
Security: TLS (always)
Port: 587
Check "Require sign-in"
Username: <Provide complete ...@outlook.com email>
Password: <Password>
