Is Mark Deleted an option?

In thunderbird, I don't use move to Trash on delete, just mark deleted. I typically set view to "not deleted", and only compact at my discretion.
On k-9 I see an option to leave deleted on server instead of move to Trash, but I don't see how to have it mark as deleted.
Is that possible?
