Hello,
My name's Andrew.  I started poking at K-9 late last year while trying to switch over from BlackBerry e-mail.  My main motivation for working on K-9 at the time was HTML replies and forwarding.  I have grand plans to see K-9 replace and surpass BlackBerry e-mail.  To that end, I'll be mentoring Apoorv's project to improve and augment our IMAP implementation, including server-side search (woohoo!).

My day job involves cloud infrastructure development and security at a dot-com in Silicon Valley, California.

"Airplane!" is best movie of all time.  OF ALL TIME.

Andrew

Hi folks,

I'm Jesse. K-9's existence is all my fault, though at this point, much
of the Awesome is due to the excellent work of a number of you (and a
number of others).

I'll be mentoring dzan as he retools our new user experience. My day job
is http://bestpractical.com - I own a small opensource company. We make
a ticketing system. Between customers and conferences, I spend WAY, WAY
too much time in the wrong timezone.

Best,
Jesse

Hi!

I'm Apoorv Khatreja (you might know me as m1k3y on IRC) from Delhi,
India. I'm new to the K-9 community in general. I've been hacking
around on Android for a few months now, and was looking for an
interesting Android project to work on for the summer. A friend told
me that K-9 had gotten accepted to GSoC 2011, and that's when I
decided to check it out. A week later I had both feet deep into the
code, and decided I was going to propose to implement some of the more
exquisite IMAP features/extensions.

I'm currently pursuing an engineering degree at Delhi Technological
Univeristy, and hope to graduate in 2012. A couple of friends and I go
by the name 'No Allegiance' and hack on small and cool stuff.

When I'm not hacking, I'm usually wasting my time watching TV shows,
some of my favorites are House, Dexter, Lost, Breaking Bad. In music,
I like to listen to Sigur Rós, Explosions in the Sky, God is an
Astronaut, and a few grunge/punk bands.

I'm really excited to work with the awesome people in the K-9
community, but I'm swamped with lab files, assignments and exam stuff
right now. As soon as I'm done with my exams, I hope to devote my full
attention to my GSoC project.
