Hello everyone

Recently, our long used and beloved iMotion stop motion animation app has recently switched to a paid subscription model 😑

I'm searching for a new iPad animation app I can use with my elementary aged students and I'm wondering if anyone here has an app they could recommend?

Ideal apps have no subscriptions or accounts required to use. We dont mind paying for an app but free is always nice. Also, my students are young so simple UI's are a big plus!

Thank you so much for your time!

Best regards,
-Reid

The only one I've used is Stop Motion Studio. We usually use the free version. The paid has some cool features, but we don't usually need them.

Stop Motion Studio is also the one we use and like on iPads. It was an improvement over iStopMotion because you can delete and edit individual frames. Only the paid version offers onion skinning, which gives the "ghost" view of a previous frame while you are working on the current one.

Hi Reid,

I think Wick Editor (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/wick-editor/id1527813014) or DoInk Animation (https://www.doink.com/features) will be your friend!

Many thanks!

Chris

I would agree stop motion studio is really solid. We have the paid version so we can use green screen and add audio plus a number of other good things.  It’s worth it.
