Contest invites designers to design 3D print wall cladding of the future. This can be framed as an exploration in pattern, texture, history of architecture and bio-mimicry. (
Ask Nature is a great resource for bio-mimicry research.)
Also, along the same theme of architecture applications of 3D printing, the
NASA 3D Print Habitat Challenge is an interesting journey to follow at the NY Maker Faire in late Sept. Here is one group,
RedWorks, whose innovative design was selected as a finalist.
