The Makerspaces for Innovation and Research in Academics (MIRA) Conference Planning Committee seeks proposals for its sixth annual conference which will be held on July 11, 2023.

 

The conference will be held virtually. 

 

The MIRA Conference seeks to bring together a group of makers, librarians, educators and practitioners for presentations, discussions and networking. We encourage participation from all types of makerspaces such as academic, community, museums, libraries (K-12, higher education, public, special), institutions, and organizations. 

 

We are seeking 20 minute presentations that can include ideas, experiences, original research, engaging discussion questions or activities. (Rubric: https://bit.ly/2MJfKtm)

 

We also welcome proposals from makerspace students. 

 

Sessions can include, but are not limited to, the following areas:


  • Assessment of makerspaces and making 
  • Managing, transitioning and reimagining makerspaces
  • Facilitating learning and engagement through making
  • Equity, diversity and inclusivity in makerspaces
  • Maker projects and concepts relating to machine learning, artificial intelligence, virtual reality and augmented reality

 

Proposal Submission Deadline:  Mar 10, 2023

Notification of Acceptance:  Apr 17, 2023

Conference Registration Opens:  May 15, 2023
