Hi all,

I recently came across cospaces and have been designing 3D spaces with students. It's adequate, but the free version is very limited. Does anyone know of anything like tinkercad for building and designing 3d spaces?

We're also looking for VR headsets. I"m curious about some of these sets that are sold to schools (ClassVR) as well as stand alone like the Meta Quest 2 (which I like because it appears versatile and affordable).

Thanks for any thoughts!
Billy

I don't have any experience with it, but I immediately thought of Minecraft and a quick search brought me to this: https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/vr

Thank you,
Paul

We use cospaces -- the paid version -- and love it. We use it with grades 4-9, but could push it up to older grades. I like that students can create experiences and also code within the program. We have old Google Expeditions headsets -- they are old Samsung phones inside a plastic case. They were purchased for Google Expeditions, but now are used solely for Cospaces. If we were purchasing something new, we'd probably purchase ClassVR headsets for their management and privacy policies.

Another FOSS tool for 3D spaces and interaction => Mozilla Hubs. Except that Mozilla recently announced that it is handing off this project "to the community" as of May 31, since the project is mature. Look for the Discord server to learn more about the transition and determine feasibility for your age group.

I picked up Zoe Immersive for my 9th and 10th graders, then was bumped out of my space for IB exams and we didn't get to it.  There is a terrific community and you can use it with Unity. https://zoeimmersive.com/
