Hi Fabbers,

Where are people ordering their laser cuttable plywood from these days? I'm tired of paying $3 per sheet!

If I want plywood, I just grab it from Lowes.  Their sanded 4x8 foot sheets are just fine.   However, if I am looking for something a little bit better I buy direct from MakerStock.  Their birch is nice and pretty affordable.

I often buy the 12X12" 3mm bulk pieces of plywood from Amazon.

I second Maker Stock and I also use Ocooch Hardwoods: https://ocoochhardwoods.com/plywood/baltic-birch-plywood/
Ocooch is also great for thin hardwoods. The wood always arrives laser flat.

I have used Maker Stock before and they have been great.

Another option would be, depending on your location and availability around you, I would check out if there are any lumber or housing materials stores. They will normally carry large sheets of plywood and many of them would cut them down after purchase. That would be the best bang for your buck way to get plywood, but it depends on availability around you.

Hope it helps.

I buy 8x4 sheets from a local lumber yard and cut them to 18"x12" = less than $1.50 a board

Another recc for Makerstock - def ask for the "wholesale" discount for education.

The local lumber yard option is good if you have the tools to break down a full sheet and can find good void-free stuff - probably not what they have at the orange and big boxes.
