Part-time employment opportunity with young makers & roboticists (East Bay, CA)

Hello makers,

I’m fortunate that our small nonprofit, Tinker Coop, continues to grow, and we’re now looking for one or more people to join our team for the spring afterschool session. One of our much-loved team members will be returning to university out of state in February, and while they can never truly be replaced, we’re hoping to fill the gaps as best we can. Looking ahead, we're also looking to sustainably staff our programs for summer and fall.

These are paid, very part-time roles (typically 1-2 times a week) during afterschool hours. They’re a great fit for someone who might live in Berkeley/Oakland who is looking for a little supplemental income or something genuinely soul-enriching to do in the STEM and maker education world. For most programs, we are looking for a co-facilitator, not lead, so there is no prep or follow-up work--just show up and be creative mentors to kids! I think this group knows well that the ability to manage kids in an active space and have patience for their shenanigans is far more important than prior knowledge of any specific machines or materials.
