A few years ago, I contributed to a project named codebender. It allows you to write Arduino code in the cloud. I had forgotten about it, but wanted to revisit it to see if I could use it for a group a kids to code as a group in the cloud. Well it can't do that yet (they are working on this feature), but its a pretty cool complier none the less.

It has drivers for many Arduino boards (and compatibles) and many, many libraries. If you have an Arduino with an ethernet connection, you can even upload code to it via the cloud. I suggest you check it out.

Most interestingly, it could possible work with a Chromebook to program Arduinos! I don't have a Chromebook at home, but if someone would like to check it out and report back, that would be great.

David,

Thanks for the review.  I look forward to test on my Chromebook after the 26th, once the holidays slow down here at my house.

Unfortunately, I make have found an answer from their use voice:

From August;

figure out Chrome OS compatibility.

Your software comes to me very highly reccomended but my only personal computer is a Chromebook.Your current Chrome extension does not support my browser.I would very much like to be able to program my Arduino board from my super portable laptop. I would appreciate it, Reddit said to let you guys know directly and that you would probably be able to oblige.
