Hi folks -

I’m cutting up some of the flat (1 layer) LEGO boards. Any recommendations for the best way to cut them? Any tips would be appreciated.

Note: our school does not have a laser cutter nor a chop saw at this point!

Thanks,
Katie

Band saw would be my weapon of choice. However, some sort of guide and a jig saw? Or repeatedly scoring it with a box cutter or plastic scorer and snapping it in pieces once largely through. Don’t use a hot knife unless you enjoy breathing chlorine.

I've had success scoring with a box cutter and stainless straight ruler.

Either cut through or score and snap.

A bandsaw with a fine tooth blade would work well.  Any back/spineless handsaw with a fine-tooth blade should work.  The fine teeth cut through the material safely.  I haven't tried scoring and snapping.

Xacto fine toothed saw with handle.  They also make a miter box, though I'm not sure the trough is wide enough.
