Hi all,
I'm pleased to announce that the applications for the second cohort of Stanford FabLearn Fellows is now open. Application deadline is July 15, 2016. Each Stanford FabLearn Fellow—an educator in formal or informal education—will be a pioneer in generating open source resources for makerspaces and fab labs all over the world, and a global ambassador communicating the value of making and digital fabrication in education.

More information here: http://fablearn.stanford.edu/fellows-new/stanford2016/

I've been privileged to be an advisor to the first cohort of FabLearn Fellows over the past year (some of you are here on this list!). Many of the the first cohort will continue on as Senior Fellows to provide mentorship and possibly begin forming local FabLearn groups. I'm looking forward to continue helping to build this global network. Please consider applying yourself or sharing this information with anyone who might be interested!

Hi Sylvia,

Do you need to be located on the west coast to be considered?

Thanks so much.

I just got an email saying I was not accepted this afternoon.  There were over 200 candidates for 20 spots, so it likely just took longer than they expected to figure it out.  However, I will be applying again.

It was a very competitive year to apply. I have heard from many who I was certain were a shoe-in tell me they did not get accepted. Not an indication of qualifications, just a numbers problem. Keep up all of your hard work and yes, do re-apply and/or urge your local universities to start similar programs to support teacher/leaders.

I received my email yesterday as well. Thank you for the opportunity to apply and I'll definitely try again at the next opportunity!
