Hi all,

You may be thinking - what does Reggio Emilia have to do technology - isn't it a pre-school movement?

Well, yes.. but it's also the home one of the most profoundly wise approaches to teaching and learning on the planet.

If you are passionate about technology that provides agency to the learner, I have a proposal for you.

Join us this April for The Language of Computation - Constructing Modern Knowledge in Reggio Emilia. This 4-day institute will expand your practice and inform the development of computational fluency in you and your students. https://reggio.constructingmodernknowledge.com

This immersive event, led by Gary Stager, me (Sylvia Martinez) and educators from our CMK faculty, along with educators from Reggio Emilia, blends the timeless principles of Reggio Emilia with computational thinking, showing you how to introduce coding, robotics, and design while staying true to child-centered learning. The co-creation of “the language of computation,” offers fertile ground for teacher research and development.

What Makes This Workshop Unique?
  • Deep Dive into Reggio Emilia Approach®: Understand how to bring the “100 languages of children” into harmony with 21st-century tools.
  • Hands-On Exploration: Experience Reggio-inspired computational projects that foster creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
  • Expert Guidance: Learn from Dr. Stager and expert educators from Reggio Emilia, who share decades of experience in progressive education and innovation.

Why Attend?
  • Discover how modern computation aligns with Reggio’s values of inquiry, creativity, and self-expression.
  • Gain practical skills for using robotics, coding, and computational tools in a Reggio context.
  • Leave with fresh ideas and strategies for project-based, student-centered learning for ALL grades.

📅 When: April 14-17, 2025
