Recommendations for CNC

Hello,
I have had $9,000 allocated for a CNC Machine.
I have an Innovation Center and the CNC will be used in FTC Robotics (not FRC) (so some metal), and for class projects, and more sophisticated designs, construction, and inventions. Any recommendations for a machine that would be the best fit. Was thinking of a 4 x4 but open to suggestions.
