to K-12 Fab Labs and Makerspaces
Hello all. If you are a makerspace with digital tools and you work with K-12 teachers, you might be interested in joining Fab Learning Academy as a Local Learning Node. Fab Learning Academy is a distributed education program that certifies practitioners using digital fabrication to support K-12 student learning. The program itself is international, and participating teachers meet virtually with the cohort as well as meet in-person for weekly local training on the machines (thus, the need for Local Learning Labs).
The FLA curriculum is designed to tackle the challenges with this type of learning in school settings and focuses on three domains: technology, science of learning, and innovative practices. It is the only program of its kind, and we are looking to expand into the US.
