makerspace kit recommendations?

hi all,

I host some drop in hours in my makerspace for TK-4th graders.

This past year I was gifted many Snap Circuit Jr kits that turned out to be a hit with all ages, and was a real saving grace in that students worked independently for months to complete them all, allowing me to support students working on more demanding projects.

Am looking for something equivalent: allows for independent exploration, supports learning, and doesn't involve buying/creating a bunch of plastic junk.
