The Director of Scientific Research (DSR) serves as a key member of the Science professional team, teaching various courses while being charged with designing new courses, programs, internships, and travel opportunities that will elevate Science research. The DSR possesses broad field knowledge of the sciences and an innovative approach to engaging high school students in discovering and applying ethical research practices to investigate real-world application of scientific concepts. The DSR will guide students in research projects grounded in school-based resources and within a community and post-secondary partnerships network.
The DSR seeks to broaden and deepen students’ knowledge and skills and to elevate the school’s mission through quality instruction and unwavering commitment to scientific exploration and by leveraging the School’s resources, in particular, a state-of-the-art, MIT-inspired fab lab. The DSR will champion a culture of student Scientific research that motivates students to achieve academic excellence, informs their values and ethics, and drives them toward the betterment of the world.
