Hi everyone

I run a space for grades 6-12 that's come along pretty well. Now it seems there may be a chance to set up a separate facility (on a separate campus) for K-5. The space is about 40' x 25' and has ventilation to the outside. If it's not too much to ask, what have you all found that works for K-5?

Thanks

Josh,
Our K-6 space is just starting our second year. I have tried to keep track of our whole process and the things going on in the Lab at http://iolanik-6fablab.blogspot.com/
Take a look and let me know if you have any questions. We have a more open format and just this year have offered mini-lessons to each grade level dealing with one
specific topic. If you ever get out to Hawaii, please come visit.

Hi Josh!
Our grades 2-5 makerspace (as part of the library program) is on a fixed schedule, so take that into consideration when reading my response.  I have different centers students can choose from including: littleBits, paper circuitry, building with Goldie Blox sets/tinker toys, marble maze building with Q-Ba-Maze blocks, and electric sewing (4th and 5th only), and coding with Scratch/Scratch Jr.  So far, they've all been pretty successful.

I'll be the first to say that what I do isn't a true makerspace...however, it's come a long way since I started 2 years ago, and we all know we have to work within the confines of existing schedules, routines, structures, at school.  If you're ever in the south-central PA area, you're welcome to visit as well!
