Hi all

We are finishing up a renovation of our makerspace which we are excited about as it includes a couple ceiling exhaust ducts for our laser cutter and CNC. The exhaust ducts coming down from the unit are 6" diameter ducts which we will need to adapt to 2.5" for our Xtool and 3" for our Snapmaker.

I was hoping to reach out to see if others with ceiling exhaust are having to use adapters or other solutions to get to the right machine exhaust diameter, and if so how you or your school/facility addressed that or what was used.

Thanks!

Hey Doug,

That 6" diameter is pretty large. There are a bunch of great fittings for dust control system which will work for everything 4" and smaller. Try Rockler here. https://www.rockler.com/power-tools/dust-collection/dust-collection-fittings/dust-collection-fittings
For the big transition from 6" you might need to look on McMaster-Carr. https://www.mcmaster.com/5518K98/  Use some silicone when assembling parts to keep a good seal.
