This is only possible if it has been marked with the ability to do code signing. For ours, we converted it to a JKS file, but if yours is not marked to sign code, Java won't allow the use of it.

do we need to buy 2 types of SSL certificates ? One for the application and other only for Code signing (applet signing). ?
not sure.. bit confused..
Do you have any idea.? or know any source from where i will get answers to all my questions..?

Contacting a CA would be the best bet.
