Dear Friends in Christ
From its humble beginnings as a two person prayer group some 8 years ago, Jesus Youth Queensland have grown steadily to be a large family serving our beloved church. Over these years we had formed a core leadership team entrusted with spiritual, social and personal development of Christ centred families and youth. Over these years we had conducted several retreats, educational sessions, charismatic prayer groups and fellowship events. And through these events we were able to attract and nurture many youth towards a Christ centred life. The pastoral support given by our priests helped us immensely in keeping our focus on Christ.
As the demography of our community changes with time, we have more youth and even more teens stepping into the life phase where spiritual nourishment is key to leading a pious life. And with the growing number of youth active in Jesus Youth Queensland, the need for a dedicated youth core team has become more evident. This team will provide, under the guidance of priests and elders, a spiritual and social leadership to their peers.
We cordially invite you and your family to the anointing of this team (will be announced on Saturday) as they take up new responsibilities. This responsibility is an important and significant one, and as such they would require a strong yet approachable spiritual director. Fr. Joseph Thottankara has accepted this role and we believe he is the best person to carry out this vital role. Reji Kottukapilli, a well-liked senior figure among youth will support the team as its Animator. Nishan Mathew will also support this team as an elder. The anointing and blessing of this team will be held on Saturday 29th March 2014 at Legion of Mary Hall, St Pauls Terrace, Fortitude Valley at 4 pm along with Youth Holy Mass.
Please do come along with your family and give the much needed support and encouragement to this new youth team - there by as a community affirming their roles and responsibilities. This is also an opportunity to gather and share in fellowship, to renew, nurture and cherish friendships.

The venue of the Saturday program changed due to some unforeseen circumstances. The new venue is given below and please do come and support our youth.
The new Venue will be at St James Church, 165 Old Cleveland Rd, Coorparoo QLD 4151
