Hereby I open this thread for the proud owners of pre-assembled JYE
Tech units.
1. Are You satisfied with the unit received?
2. Is it fulfilling Your expectations?
3. Have You any complaints/suggestions regarding JYE Tech (they will
hear it if You put them here)?
and
4. Here You can get real actual feedback with the people that did made
Your product, so just make it worth it.
;-)
Best regards,
Stevan C.
It would be better if there is a case, or a silicon skin, to go along
with it. Now I got myself a tin can to house it, it has been a
workhorse for me. I think there is room for improvement for the
quality of the scope jack and plug. At the beginning and at times the
not-so-good connection waste time and create anxieties during work.
I am carrying it beside my Fluke meter. It is a fine tool.

Build quality is excellent. Use of PC board material as a partial
case is extremely clever.
Buttons are well laid out and have good tactile response although the
MCU can't always keep up with them (fixed in 082 I understand).
Would be nice if front panel had small drilled hole at each corner to
facilitate mounting inside a box, and possibly a slight overlap of the
panel itself so it could be mounted outside box if necessary without
having to go through contortions.
Power connector would be better on same side as input connector to
reduce chance of damage and increase ease of handling uncased unit in
real world.
Installing BNC for input and including RCA-BNC would be preferable to
including two adapters with separate probe kit, as owners of existing
probes may have difficulty sourcing BNC connectors with correct
footprint.
> 2. Is it fulfilling Your expectations?
Unfortunately not. Triggering is not versatile enough (LF reject and
especially HF reject) and the trigger slope selection is not
reliable. I've discussed this with Mr. Jevin and understand that this
is a hardware limitation. I am however amazed that any scope could be
built for this price and my only difficulty is that $50 is quite a
large sum of money for me at the moment; so discovering the triggering
limitations was quite a disappointment.

I think the software ergonomics are generally very good but have made
some suggestions to Mr. Jevin which I will put in a separate post.
I'm greatly looking forward to the arrival of a programmer from
adafruit so that I can install the new firmware (the JYE Tech 03702 is
not available in the US except from a ripoff bait-and-switch outfit
called unbeatablesales.com which charges USD150 shipping for the 03702
and USD350 shipping for the DSO 062. None of the JYE Tech US
distributors carry the 07302.
All-in-all I'm very impressed with the device as a first effort and am
greatly looking forward to the 082. Unfortunately it may be six to
twelve months before I can afford one, but that's life in the big
city. :-)
Regards,
David
