Dear All,

We finished our 8th 40 Days for Life campaign in Birmingham and appropriately we know we had at least 8 babies saved during this time. Praise God!

The eighth couple who changed their minds did so at the end of last week. They were a Catholic couple who already had 6 children and were struggling a little with life. English was not their first language so the 2 prayer volunteers didn't find it easy to converse with them but they managed to do so. The older of the prayer volunteers chatted for quite a while then said that she'd said all she could say and now she was going to pray. She went over to the entrance of the abortion clinic and got down on her knees to pray her final decade of the sorrowful mysteries of the rosary. This wasn't easy for her as she is a retired lady and it was a cold day. The other volunteer works at the crisis pregnancy centre so she explained about help that was available then went to join the other volunteer on her knees. Within a minute the husband was running over to them both and begged them to stand up. He told them that his heart had been changed and that he and his wife were now keeping their baby. The wife also came over and there were a few hugs and exchange of contact details. Please continue to pray for this couple  and all those who have made the decision to keep their babies that they will get all the help they need and realise the beauty of the new life they are blessed with.

Thank you so much to everyone who has joined in this campaign. So many people have really pushed themselves out of their comfort zone to ensure that there were people praying outside the abortion clinic every single day for 12 hours a day. Thank you also to those who were unable to physically be with us but prayed for us from their own homes and churches. Your prayers and efforts have made a huge difference and for 8 women/couples although they may never know your name, they will never forget the difference you have made in their lives by your prayers and witness. One day when we all meet in Heaven those 8 little children will be able to thank you personally for being bothered enough to do something when no one else did.

Remember to keep Saturday 16th May in your diaries for the March for Life UK. If you already have a pressing engagement for that day then please find someone to take your place at the march. It will be a day to remember with inspiring speakers Gianna Jessen (abortion survivor from USA) and Obianuju Ekeocha (founder of Culture of Life Africa) as well as Archbishop Bernard Longley. I have attached the flyer and a brief itinerary for the day. Remember this is not exclusively a Catholic event but we have provided a Mass and Holy hour at the begining of the day to cater for Catholics. Please spread the word to family, friends and fellow parishioners. If you can print off the flyer to put in your local church or give out at any Christian/prolife gatherings you may be attending that would be a great help. Start making a banner based on our theme 'Life from Conception - No exception!' be as creative or as simple as you like (we ask no graphic images of abortion be used).

If you live outside Birmingham could you organise a coach/minibus or lift-share to encourage others from your church or area to come along?
