John 8:12Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, "I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life."

So it's week 4 of awakening .
One of the highlights has been the fact that loads of people are visiting and spending time even if a few moments in front of the blessed sacrament.
Throughout the day we have about 10 people who are regular comers and have taken commitment for slots ... apart from these ... We have visitors right after the 8 am mass going up to about 11 pm.
Parishioners join in especially for the divine office prayers and divine mercy chaplet at 3 pm... One lady shared today how she loves to come here and join in praying the divine mercy chaplet. Apart from this we have regular prayers throughout - rosaries , way of cross and also silent reflection periods.
Personally... It's been a blessed experience for me so far. I am not a great fan of loosing sleep in the night .. And also many did warn that it can sometimes get quite cold in the night if sitting for more than a couple of hours. But there is something really special about spending the night with Lord ... Something that keeps u going ... Something that keeps u alive and active. I sometimes literally hear his voice speaking to me :) ... And u know it's him. No doubt .. You just know it.
The other day I read this reflection were it talked about going on top of a mountain to pray. Like Jesus before his transfiguration ...took peter, James and john with him "up to the mountain to pray" . Bishop Robert Barron goes on to say that mountains are standard biblical places of encounter with God. The idea being the higher you go ... The closer you come to God. But unpacking its symbolic sense ... To commune with God .. We have to step out of our every day workaday world.
This cathedral and this time of awakening has been my mountain :) something that I have been missing for sometime now.
It's great to see many traveling from all over UK .. I have couple of them from Manchester now with me ... Over the last few days we have had people form Leeds... Birmingham .. Cardiff ... Nottingham... London...derby...leicester ;)
We have another few weeks left before awakening moves from here to local parishes across Uk. So surely most of you will get an opportunity to be with the Lord during this season of perpetual adoration. But being lent .... Maybe if u can .. Try come down ... And spend some time here at the cathedral. Forget about booking slots .. Just come and listen :)
