Dear Family,
It is Jesus Youth Family Ministry’s privilege to write to you about a wonderful retreat opportunity for the families in the city of Bangalore. Most of us, myself included, never would have gone on retreat without being asked. That’s why we extending this personal invitation.
Why go on a retreat?
For most of us, the pace of daily life is pretty hectic. Because we’re always on the go, there isn’t much time to think about the things that are truly important in life. At Passionately Your’s – A retreat for Families, the peace and solitude provide a chance for you to get away – to take time to reflect, refresh, and renew. During this time apart, you may even discover the inner strength to help with the many issues facing you. And if you need it, there is always the availability of spiritual counseling or just the sympathetic ear of someone else who has been where you are now.
If you’re thinking, “a retreat is not for me,” think again! Retreat is for every family . Perhaps you think you don’t need a retreat; there are no extraordinary problems or challenges in your our family just now. But retreat is not only for the difficult times in your life – it’s also for those times when you are feeling happy, fulfilled, and thankful for all your many blessings. What better way to deepen your spiritual connection with the God to whom you are so grateful?
What is this retreat all about ?
This is purely a family initial retreat. The retreat is done by Bro. Elvis Kootoran and his team, who is a renowned preacher from Kerala and have been conducting family retreats across the world. He has been our resource for the last 4 years.
Language for Retreat
The retreat will be in Malayalam . But don’t worry, families who wants to attend the retreat in English, we have another one in November !!!
Why a Jesus youth Family Retreat ?
Jesus youth Family Ministry has been actively involved in connecting families with Jesus. We have organized around 10 retreats for families in the last 4 years, with almost 150 families in Bangalore attending the same over the years.
Importantly, Jesus Youth Family Ministry retreats could be one of the rare places where you could attend a retreat with your kids !!
Retreat with Kids, How will that happen ?
If this is a question that is troubling you, sit back and Relax. This time, Jesus Youth is committed to make this happen for you. We are there to take care of your kids, while you attend your retreat in Peace. In the past, we have seen families attending the retreat even with new born ( < 3 Months) to kids as old as 15 Years. Most of the families who have attended the retreat in the past are families with kids in the age group of 1-5 years. So be relaxed, we have experiences volunteers from different Jesus Youth Ministries to take care of your kids. Older Kids (who are more than 2-3 Years) will be taught songs, bible, stories, sessions by trained resources.
So while you attend the retreat, let your kids also experience a mini retreat. In this way, we are committed to make this a real Family Retreat
Maybe you’re saying, “I can’t afford to give up an entire weekend!”
But you need to trust that when you step to this retreat with your family, all things will fall in place. From August 21st , Friday at 8 AM. to August 23rd, Sunday at 5:00 P.M is only about 55 hour out of the 8760 hours in a year that you have for yourself. We promise you that this 55 Hours that you are going to give for the Lord is going to be a life changing experience
Where will we stay
Perhaps this could be bothering you very much. Don’t worry. We have arranged a wonderful accommodation for all of you. Family rooms ( with 2 beds, matters, attached bathrooms, ) will be provided for each family. The venue is a calm, serene place in the outskirts of Bangalore. Snehaddan, Camilillain Pastoral Center at Caremlaram, Sarjapura Road will house the retreat.
It should be very expensive, How will I manage ?
Finally, We want you to know that cost should never be a reason for not making to the retreat. Though we have a cost for running the entire retreat which come to around 1.5 Lakhs ( Including accommodation, Venue Charges and Food for 35 Families), we just wanted you to share a minimum amount of Rs. 2200 / Family. If you have older kids (> 8-9 Years), then Please share an amount approx. to about Rs 500/Child.
But if Rs. 2200 is stopping you from attending this retreat, please do not miss. We have families who are ready to sponsor your expenses. Your presence in the retreat is important, God will take provide all other needs.
