FYI, registrations are filling up pretty quick, and now the agenda is
published so I expect them go fast. I'm really excited about the set of
talks in the draft agenda:

http://openjdk.java.net/projects/mlvm/jvmlangsummit/agenda.html

And there's a few more slots we're holding open for late additions.

There's registration instructions here:

http://openjdk.java.net/projects/mlvm/jvmlangsummit/

Should be a great event...I hope to see as many of you there as possible.

Hi Charles,

As much as I'd like to, there is just no way for me to make it to the
conference. Is there a plan to record sessions and make the available
online?

I'll have to look into that, I'm not sure if we'd made such plans or
not. It sure would be nice, but then there's also the hassle of getting
all speakers to sign off on their content. I'll bring it up though.

Hi Charles,

At worst, mp3 recording with slides would be perfect. I'll send you my
recorder if you like ;-)

A big +1 if you can get videos or at least sound recordings for the
presentations. I find slide presentations are usually pretty skimpy,
and the Q/A in this situation would be invaluable.

Cheers

Ok, I'll see what I can do. I agree it would be great to have these
recordings around after the summit.

If you can do this, may I suggest this format?

Video + slides is much easier to follow.

thanks

Or BeJUG's parlays, they might even be able to help.

Agreed but, organizing a conference is an undertaking. There are so many
things to look after and it can consume quite a bit of time. Adding a
video + slide coordination effort is a much larger request than it may
seem. Right now I'd be thrilled with a voice recoding and a slide
download. And if it weren't to happen, it's very understandable. Just
getting that much organized will be time consuming enough.

Kirk

Depending on the budget, it might be possible to outsource the
technical details of video recording. These guys seem to specialize in
just that: http://confreaks.com/

I too put up my paw in favor of the wide video+slides format.
