Hi all,

this list seems to have been silent for years, so I am wondering if this
is still a place to ask questions for jvm languages (I would maybe have
some tricky corner case questions for MethodHandles) or if there is an
alternative list I can go to... or if these things are now simply dead

bye Jochen

Well, I’m still here. :-) Dunno if I am who you’re looking for, though, since I probably have more questions than you do. :-)

I'm still here too! Probably making a big performance push with JRuby
soon that will obviously involve lots of indy and method handles.

In my experience all this stuff with invokedynamic, MethodHandles (and
VarHandles) und ClassValue.

My main problem is, that I have not been able to work in that area for
several years and I have no idea what changed in the meantime for the
internals. From looking at the source I can see quite bit did happen I
found critical in the past, but beyond that.

For Groovy the current main problems are:
* improving our very simple polymorphic cache
* reducing one-time cost for producing handles
* avoiding memory leaks through callsites

and a big number of other smaller and bigger problems

bye jochen
