Greetings SJ folks,
A small group met on Friday to consider possible group discussions and actions around racism, police brutality, and related subjects. The decision was to hold a 6-week series of Zoom meetings to discuss articles, podcasts and other resources on these topics as well as concrete actions we might take individually and collectively. This will be called Racial Justice Reflection Group. (In case you’re interested, participants were Bart as convener, Carol Dieckmann, Akilah Kinnison, Nicky Manlove, Sylvia Thorson-Smith and me (Pat Turnbull.)
The next day it occurred to me that we might collect a special offering for a local group fighting racism in conjunction with the discussions. This could kick off around July 4 and end when the series ends in late July. Bart and I propose donations go to the Second Chance Community Bail Fund, a subgroup/outgrowth of the local Black Lives Matter group.

Aye or Nay to the special offering? Please respond to Naja at
