Travel & Vacation

One of my most memorable trips was the one to Gyeongju in high
school. It was a three day trip, so we were buzzing with excitement
during the bus ride there. Of course, the important point of the trip
was tours to Gyeongju's historic sites, like Bulguksa and Seokguram.
The scenery was breathtaking and we learned a lot during the tours.

However, the trips highlights were a mini talent show and a
campfire we had on the last day. The trip was all the more rewarding
since our classmates were able to develop a stronger bond among one
another.

I really like to travel. So i've been on a few backpacking trips. Two
years ago, my college roommate and I went to Nepal and India for a
month. We were on a shoestring budget, but it was unforgettable
experience. That was how I caught the travel bag. Last year we hopped
all over south-east Asia for three months, visiting Malaysia,
Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam. It was difficult at times living out
of a backpack and being tight with our money, but I got so much out of
it.

Despite the culture shock, I came back to Korea with a better
understanding of other cultures and more confidence. Although I blew
almost all my savings from my part-time jobs on these trips, it was
definitely money well spent.
