Hi,

I am running JP version 4.0.69 and the fade function does not work most of the time.  Does the player need to cache the music before the fade will work?  Also, I read that you will have gapless playing at some time.  What music format to you suggest to use for gapless?

thanks

Hi

Gapless playback is valid in all of the file types.

Mechanism is based on the pre-buffering.

However, I will not know the problem that is not working properly in OS of KitKat.
We have not been able grasp all because case is less, but it does not work with at least Nexus5.
This is, we recognize that it is Android problems.

At the same, the mechanism of the gapless playback, it does not work that it is not the file cache is created.

Please question if there is something unclear point also.

Hi,

I think you are saying that gapless playback is not working because of an Android Kit Kat issue.  is fading?

To me, gapless and fading playback are different.  gapless can buffer just enough to make up for the additional information that is needed until the next stream has been decoded.  Fading mixes two separate streams by a preset amount (I think you said six seconds somewhere).

I am not clear about fading working now.  It does work sometimes, but most of the time it doesn't.  I still don't understand if the fading needs the cache to be filled.

thanks

Hi

Problem is crossfade, gapless dose not have problem in all device.
and, cache is needed in both cases.

You needs cache for cross fade functionaly.
Cache is being created for the next song in queue automaticaly.

if network connection is bad buffering does not complete.
Therefore gapless playback and cross-fade playback do not work properly.
Network connection will be attempted up to five times. After that, I will be done at the time of the next play.

Thanks.

Hi,
I have a large number of music compilations that do not have a pause between tracks.  So, I would like to have gapless playback.  Is there a way to enable this or is it always on?

Since I just got the version of JP that needs the cloud services paid for, I am only using local phone storage for now.  So, there should be no network connection problem. If I play an entire playlist from local storage, the cache should be loaded the first time it is played?  The second time I play the playlist, the gapless or crossfade usually does no work.

thanks

Hi again,

I see,
If it does not imply that behavior is intended.

Gapless playback should always been to ON.
Maybe there is an orientation unsuitable by the format of just maybe file.
Is it possible to get the three songs about sample for testing?
And we want to try to adjust it accordingly.

Thanks.

Hi,

Just to be sure I understand what is suppose to work.  If I turn off fade, clear JP cache and play two files, the first time JP plays the files, it is loading the cache and there will be a gap between the songs.  The second time I play the files, the cache should be loaded and there should be no gap?

Hi again,

To use the media that you split one of the songs was a test.
The results, in order to perfect gapless playback seems no other to make use of the Android framework api.
This has been supported from JerryBeans.
And, JustPlayer does not use it.

Now, I will try to implement the regeneration process with this.
You need a little time. Please check the beta of the update.

Thanks.

Hi,

I have not been able to get gapless playback to work. I have used a combination of different numbers of songs with both OGG and MP3 encoding.

I'm not sure what you are saying in your last reply. Are you going to change some code in the app? I should wait for an update?

Updated to JP 4.0.72 and gapless playback is working! Thanks for the update.

Should I continue to comment on other JP subjects in this Google Group or is there a better way?
