Decent Work in Nature-based Solutions (report)

"This first report in a biennial series on “Decent Work in Nature-based Solutions” is a partnership between ILO, UNEP and IUCN and was launched in at the CBD COP 15 (Montreal, Canada, Dec 7-19, 2022).

This event hosted a discussion on the role of the private sector in addressing and responding to the various dimensions and effects of climate change.

The report develops a robust framework for the assessment of employment in Nature-based Solutions (NbS), including the first empirical evaluation of current and potential future global employment in NbS. Moreover, the report shows how the Just Transition framework can be applied to promote decent work in NbS and examines the use of national statistics to measure different forms of work in NbS.
