User / Favorites API Not working

I have a simple Chrome Extension, JTV live that shows which of a user's favorite streams are currently online:

http://www.mikechambers.com/blog/2011/07/06/jtv-live-a-google-chrome-extension-for-justin-tv/

The user enters their user name, and then I pull their favorites and display the ones that are online:

http://api.justin.tv/api/user/favorites/mesh2325.json?limit=50&offset=1

However, right now (and a couple of times over the past week), the API is not returning just the user's favorites, but all streams currently online.

A simple query to the API is returning 0 results:

http://api.justin.tv/api/user/favorites/mesh2325.json

Anyone know what is going on with the API, and why it is returning the wrong info? Any eta on a fix?

I just want to point out, when users of my extension see this issue, it reflects poorly on me, and not on justin.tv. I know things break, but I would appreciate some input from justin.tv on this issue.

Ah actually I see the problem here. You have some Twitch users who are using your JTV extension to get information about their Twitch account. The Justin.tv API no longer returns any information about Twitch users. If you wish to add Twitch support, please use the Twitch API: https://github.com/justintv/Twitch-API/

Is there any particular reason why a user's favorites / follow list now requires authentication?

This makes fixing my extension non-trivial.

ok. I figured out which API to use so I don't have to authenticate.

Is it possible to retrieve multiple channel objects in one call? similar to how I could do it in the JTV API:

http://api.justin.tv/api/stream/list.json?channel=foo,bar,bam

would return the channel info for foo, bar and bam?
