Korean American Community Outraged - Protesting on 7/10/08 11AM

Korean American community activists and leaders are holding a press
conference / protest this Thursday, the 10th in K-Town at 11:00AM.

This will be held in front of Korea Town Plaza. 928 S Western Ave.;
Los Angeles, CA 90006


Michael Cho, a UCLA alum, was a very talented artist and musician.
His life was cut short because two La Habra police officers decided
that he should no longer live. Michael may have had a tire iron that
day, but according to video footage and witness statements, he did NOT
hurt anyone or even try to. He did not even try to hurt the cops who
ended up putting 11 bullets into his body and killing him. Remember,
tire irons are used to change car tires and many of us have one in the
trunk of our cars. The last person to have contact with Michael
before facing the two police officers with guns drawn is an employee
at the liquor store. The liquor store employee said that Michael was
Friendly and that he Never felt threatened by Michael. So why did the
cops have their guns drawn and pointed? Why did they start shooting
someone with a leg/walking disability? Why did they shoot 11 times?
Remember that everything happened (a life was terminated) within 41
seconds.

The Orange County District Attorney's office is NOT pressing charges
against the two who ended Michael's life. Apparently, the badge comes
with the right to kill. Since the "people" at the OC DA's office
refuse to uphold vows they've taken, a jury won't even get the chance
to hear the evidence of the case. The cops forced the fate of
Michael, but no one will be allowed to decide the fate of the
murderers. As evidenced by OC DA Tony Rackauckas's non-action, cops
can kill and won't have to answer to anyone.

The community is outraged. Show your support this Thursday.
